And almost a year after the announcement, the state government has now issued orders, mentioning Sindhu is appointed the deputy collector. The shuttler has been asked to report to the concerned commissioner within 30 days.

Currently, Sindhu is working with Bharat Petroleum Corp Ltd (BPCL) as an assistant manager (sports) at its Hyderabad office since 2013.

After getting the appointment letter, Sindhu has expressed her happiness, but clarified that badminton is her first priority and she would continue to concentrate on the sport.
