Indian fans would finally see women star shuttlers like PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal taking the centre stage in the BWF World Championships 2019 after the male shuttlers did their part on Tuesday. While most of India’s matches are expected to be easy ones, the top ranked women duo could have problems.

PV Sindhu would be finally opening her campaign against Chinese Tai Pei’s Pai Yu Po, and with Sindhu beating the Taiwanese shuttler on their previous two occasions quite easily, the fans should expect an easy win this around as well.

Saina Nehwal wouldn’t having as easy a run as her compatriot though, for although she faces a nobody in an unseeded Soraya De Visch Eijbergen of the Netherlands, her injuries have pulled her back on certain occasions recently and Wednesday couldn’t be very different either.

Quite possibly, the only big match of the day from India’s standpoint would the Chinese pair of Du Yue and Li Yin Hui, who would be taking on the women’s pairing of Ashwini Ponnappa and N Sikki Reddy. After getting walkovers on their previous two matches, the Indian duo would be 100 percent fit but would also be lacking match practice.

The other big match of the day would be Kidambi Srikanth taking on Israel’s Misha Zilberman. After Srikanth’s first round match against the Irishman Nhat Nguyen stretched to three games, the Indian top ranked player doesn’t really ooze confidence. To further exacerbate things, the Israeli had actually beaten Srikanth in the previous and only encounter they have ever had.
