PV Sindhu will be taking on old arch nemesis Nozomi Okuhara in the semi-finals of the Indonesia Open after she overcame young Dane Mia Blichfeldt in the previous round, although not before an early scare. Okuhara, on the other hand, defeated Soniia Cheah in the quarter-finals to set the epic clash.

With Kidambi Srikanth getting eliminated in the men’s singles round and India also getting ousted from the men’s doubles as well as the mixed doubles events, Sindhu has been the sole Indian contender in the Indonesia Open. And now, with Okuhara being next opponent in the tournament, it is expected to be another epic clash.

The two have faced each other 14 times previously with each sharing the spoils seven times each, which only hints the intense competition they have among themselves. Unlike Sindhu, Okuhara has had a glitch-free run in the previous rounds and she would be confident about going past her Indian counterpart, who has struggled with form of late.
