NBA 2018 | Stephen Curry has most jersey sales at home; LeBron dominates in China

According to an ESPN report, Golden State Warriors' Stephen Curry has the most number of jersey sales in the United States but loses out to Cleveland Cavaliers’ leader LeBron James in China. Curry's Warriors teammate Kevin Durant is the only other player who makes it in the top-5 of both lists.
In America, Curry is followed by James in the jersey sales while his teammate Durant comes in at number 3. The fourth spot is currently held by Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo who averages 28.2 points and 10.1 rebounds a game so far this season. His performances have seen the Bucks stay in contention for a place in the playoffs from the East.Â
New York Knicks forward Kristaps Porzingis, who ended up fourth and sixth respectively in the last two seasons managed to finish 5th on the list. After the disaster that was 2017, the Knicks, riding on Porzingis’ 23.6 points a game, have improved ever so slightly this time and have an outside chance of making it to the playoffs this time around.
However, in China, the fans have a completely different set of players who they prefer. With James and Curry making up the 1-2 in the Asian country, it’s James Harden who has the third most jersey sales in the country. That could be attributed to the fact that the Rockets are still quite popular in China owing to the fact that Yao Ming played all of his nine seasons in Houston.Â
While there is nothing surprising about Durant making the number four spot his own, Kyrie Irving’s entry into the top-5 is definitely one. Following his move from the Cavs this season, his jersey sales dropped from the No.5 spot to the No. 12 spot. However, with the Celtics finally getting a franchise player for their team, their fans in China seem to agree with the decision.
