Vijender Singh will face Rocky Fielding for the British and Commonwealth Super middleweight title which will take place in March next year. Fielding who has 24 wins in his 25 bouts, which includes 14 knockouts, will be Vijender's first real test since he turned professional in June 2015.

The British boxer won the British and Commonwealth Super middleweight title on September 30 this year, after registering a crushing victory over David Brophy in Liverpool. In terms of experience, the 30-year-old Fielding has an upper hand over the WBO Asia Pacific and Oriental Super Middleweight champion Vijender. Fielding is also a former WBA Inter-Continental super middleweight champion. 

Now, he will face the 2008 Beijing Olympics bronze medal winner in his first title defence. The 31-year-old Indian boxer has a record of 9-0 as a pro. In his last fight, Vijender defending his title against Zulphikar Maimaitiali at the Sardar Patel Indoor Stadium in Mumbai where the Indian managed to extend his pro-boxing record to 9-0 as he won the contest by unanimous decision of 96-93, 95-94, 95-94.

Vijender made history at the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics becoming the first Indian boxer to win a medal in boxing after beating Carlos Gongora of Ecuador 9–4.
