Indian Boxers Shiva Thapa and Salman Sheikh have showcased their talent to qualify themselves in the quarter-final rounds of the Ulaanbaatar Cup. Their comprehensive wins in the tournament in Mongolia on Wednesday has established them as the prime contenders to win in the quarter-finals.

Shiva Thapa overthrew Oyunbileg Munkhsaikhan to establish his victory over the local player. Three times Asian medalist, Shiva would be encountering Kyrgyzstan's Ravshanbek in the next round.

Salman, on the other hand, easily brushed aside Korean Young Single Bae to land in the quarter-finals of the tournament. Further in it, Salman will be facing Gankhuyag Gan-Erdene who is a local.

During the match, Shiva had a firm watertight guard over his opponent and he approached his opponent in a moderate temperament. The last three minutes pushed him to completely dominate his opponent with full aggression. Salman was continuously overpowering his opponent with his constant aggression throughout the game. The consecutive punches delivered by him overwhelmed Young and Salman took the match in his name.

With this flurry of wins, now it is expected that both Shiva and Salman may clear the rounds and make themselves eligible for the medal.
