Vishwanathan Anand managed to play out a draw against Armenia's Levon Aronian that helped the Indian to hold on to his half-point lead at the top of the table in the ongoing Sinquefield Cup. For the second consecutive day in the tournament, all the players in contention had to settle for a draw.

Indian Grandmaster Viswanathan Anand held on to his lead at the top of the table at the ongoing Sinquefield Cup in Missouri after scraping out a draw against GM Levon Aronian. Aronian, who finished as joint-winner at the last edition of the tournament, had to make do with a 42-move draw against Anand on Monday.

In doing so, the Indian Grandmaster maintained his half-point lead at the top on a day when all the matches ended in a draw. Earlier, Anand registered a crucial draw against long-time rival Magnus Carlsen in round two of the tournament. He currently leads the elite 12-player field with 2 points.
