After the news of a player missing out on the IPL due to an injury almost every day for the last week or so, fans finally have some great news. Harsha Bhogle has signed a deal to act as an analyst for the upcoming season of the league after being sacked by the BCCI after last year's World Twenty20.

Bhogle’s sacking came after movie star Amitabh Bachchan complained about the commentator speaking a bit too much about the foreign players on Twitter. Bachchan’s tweet was then retweeted by the then skipper MS Dhoni, and the rest is history.

While there had been reports that Harsha Bhogle would return to the biggest tournament of the cricketing calendar, with broadcasters Sony allegedly wanting the 55-year-old to make a comeback to the studio. However, with the BCCI announcing its elite panel of commentators for the 2017 edition of the IPL and Bhogle's name not featuring, it appeared like it was not to be.

But, Bhogle announced the news to his 5.25 million followers through Twitter. The tweet in Hindi can be loosely translated as," It give me great pleasure to announce that I will be appearing on Set Max as a Hindi analyst during the IPL."

The 55-year old also posted a message on Facebook confirming the news and in the true Harsha Bhogle way, he said, "It will be a new experience doing commentary in Hindi. I've done it before but only a little bit here and there. I find words don't obey you as much but it will be a new adventure because being bilingual is no longer a qualification but a necessity. You will have to pardon (or be amused by) the Hyderabadi intonation and accent!"
