The Mumbai wicketkeeper failed to give the home side the start they would have wanted and was dismissed for 8 by a world class swinging yorker from Kagiso Rabada. He did, however, have a good day behind the stumps on a pitch that appeared to have excessive bounce in the second innings.

The Englishman carried the momentum of the last match into this innings and was looking in great touch yet again. He was the first victim of the runout syndrome that appeared to hit the players at the Wankhede tonight. Having said that he was still his team’s highest run-getter on the day with 28.

Nitish Rana - (4/10)

Rohit  Sharma - (3/10)

How many times is he going to be dismissed by a leg spinner bowling a googly. The only reason he is still in the squad is because he is the captain of the side. If he wants to make it to the Indian Champions trophy squad, his performances will have to improve drastically.

Pollard started slow and was eyeing the slog overs to up the run rate and unleash himself on the Delhi Daredevils bowler but fell for well disguised Pat Cummins delivery in the 18th over. Nevertheless, his contribution of 26 helped his side reach a modest total of 142.

On a pitch seemed to favour the bowlers today, Krunal Pandya did pretty well with the bat. He rotated the strike and kept the scoreboard ticking scoring 17 off 16 balls.

Hardik Pandya - (7/10)

Harbhajan Singh - (6/10)

The Turbanator started expensively giving away 19 runs in his first 2 overs but he managed to pull back the runs and ended up with figures of 0/26 from his 4 overs.

McClenaghan was surely feeling the heat before coming into this game having been smashed for 28 runs in an over by Maxwell in the last game. Today, however, he was exceptional as he destroyed the Delhi top order, picking up the wickets of Samson, Iyer, and Anderson. Even though he conceded 24 from his 4 overs, the best performer of the day.

Mitchell Johnson - (7/10)

Jasprit Bumrah - (8/10)

How good has he been so far and yet again when called upon performed well above what was expected. Bumrah looked in great shape and bowled some great variations that helped him keep the Delhi batsmen in check. With Delhi looking in the ascendancy in the last phase of the game, Bumrah gave away just five runs and broke the 91 run stand between Rabada and Morris.

Sanju Samson - (4/10)

Samson looked in good nick at the start of the innings, judging each ball perfectly. He even hit a couple of boundaries before falling to Mitchell McClenaghan for 9. Definitely, a disappointing performance from the Kerala wicketkeeper.

Aditya Tare’s horrific run continues with another duck. He was run-out by Hardik Pandya after he set-off on a suicidal run and that was it for the opener. He had already suffered the axe once and a failure or two may end up his chances.

Karun Nair - (4/10)

Shreyas Iyer - (4/10)

The in-form local lad was unable to carry the momentum gained from his last innings and today, fell for a nothing delivery from McClenaghan. 

The low-scoring streak continues for this youngster as he gave away his wicket before opening his account in today’s game. Pant would surely want to forget the day and start all over again. 

Chris Morris - (8/10)

Morris started his day badly giving away 33 runs in his 4 overs and failing to utilize the bowling-friendly strip but he more than made up that performance with the bat scoring an unbeaten 52. His innings was remarkable for almost taking the game away from Mumbai’s clutch, however, he could not carry the burden alone and ended up on the losing side.

Corey Anderson - (2/10)

Pat Cummins - (7/10)

The Aussie was at the top of his game and flaunted his fast-bowling skills. He tested the batsmen with his pace and dismissed in-form Nitish Rana and Kieron Pollard cheaply before they could do some serious damage. He ended his quota of four overs with excellent figures of 20-2.

The South African started as a specialist bowler but at the end of the day left the fans confused with his brilliant knock of 44 runs off 39 balls. He played a spectacular innings when the top order collapsed and kept his side in the game. Earlier in the day, he generated some serious pace and finished with 30-1 from his quota of 4 overs. 

Amit Mishra - (8/10)

Zaheer Khan - (7/10)

The skipper was the most expensive of the lot and did not perform at par with the rest of his bowling attack. He leaked away 36 runs in 4 overs and ended with an economy of 9. But the veteran pacer was magnificent when it came to captaincy and was instrumental in plotting many wickets with his tactical acumen. 

MATCH KA MUJRIM - DELHI DAREDEVILS TOP ORDER
