Delhi Daredevils' leading run-getter Sanju Samson has said Robin Uthappa's dropped catch was the main reason that his side lost the game against KKR. Samson underlined the need for his team to move past the result and focus on winning the next game to keep alive their hopes of a playoff berth.

The day began well for Samson as he scored a 38-ball 60 to guide his side to 123/3 with six overs remaining. However, some great death bowling by KKR restricted the visitors to a sub-par total of 160.

However, Kagiso Rabada's spell at the start of the innings gave Delhi a foothold in the game as he dismissed Sunil Narine for just four runs. It could have gotten better for Delhi when Uthappa sliced a Rabada delivery into the air but a miscommunication, of the hilarious kind, resulted in Samson and Amit Mishra making a mess of the opportunity. Uthappa, who was on nine at the time of the drop, ended up scoring 59 off just 33 balls as Kolkata secured a 7-wicket win.

“Catches do count. Catches win matches and there was a dropped chance and he (Uthappa) made use of it. I think that cost us the match,” Samson told a post-match press conference.

“It’s a busy crowd here, lot of noise, so it’s not easy to communicate when the ball goes up. It happens in a match but I think we need to move on. We have a match day after. We have to forget it and move on.

“I think I am still learning. I am a 22-year-old and have a long career ahead. I need to finish games and need to play the whole 20 overs. Whenever you play 20 overs, the team has the best chances to win. I am trying for that. When you play a sport like cricket, failure is more than success. We all as sportsmen know how to come back from failures.

"So I think we need to keep going as life. In life also we have failures. We all have doubts but we need a positive mindset. We need to challenge ourselves and move on positively."

There have been 16 hat-tricks taken the IPL so far and there is Amit Mishra who has 3 hat-tricks to his name!
