After the cancellation of the two-day warm-up match between India and South Africa Board President’s XI, the Indian cricket board has decided to hire a fast wicket in South Africa for more productive outputs. The first match of the series will be started on January 5 in Cape Town.

Under Kohli's captaincy, the team India have been playing some exceptional cricket in all the formats of the game. However, as per the cricket pundits, the team will face the real challenge when they will visit South Africa as it is known fact that Indian players are not very good against pacers. Their record has been also not very impressive in South Africa as they still in the search of their first series win in the country. But it seems that the Indian team didn’t want to leave any stone unturned as after the cancellation of two-day warm-up match the Indian management is planning to hire a ground in South Africa for more productive practice sessions.

In that process, after hiring the ground they will lay a fast pitch and have a centre wicket to practice for five-six days starting December 29. The Team India will leave Mumbai on December 27 night and will reach Cape Town on the next day. However, before the tour, a BCCI member will go there to make the required arrangements.

"What is the point in having a practice match where we can't have anything productive? It will be a waste of two precious days as we know the opposition will field medium pacers and lay a flat wicket. Instead, we want to make our own preparations," a source privy to the development told Mumbai Mirror.

The Indian team has also decided to take Hyderabad’s Mohammed Siraj, Madhya Pradesh’s Avesh Khan, Navdeep Saini of Delhi and Kerala’s yorker specialist Basil Thampi with the team as net pacers. While Siraj has already made his international debut against New Zealand in T20Is, Thampi, along with Siraj, has been a part of the squad for the forthcoming T20I series against Sri Lanka. While Saini picked up 22 wickets in six matches for Delhi, helping them enter the semi-finals after 9 years, Avesh has been a part of Board Presidents’ XI and is known for his raw pace.
