Sourav Ganguly says that the Australians would make it tough for Virat Kohli, but believes that India has the capability to finish the series 4-0 in their favour. He said that the last time the Australians tried to sledge Kohli, it didn't go so well for them, and it'll be foolish to try that again.

"I believe India can win it, they have the capability and the opportunity to win 4-0 in this series so it will be hard work for Australia," said Ganguly to India Today.

The ex-Indian captain also believes that the big names in the Aussie line-up have to step up to the occasion for Australia to have a fighting chance.

"It's going to be tough for Australia it won't be easy for them. Smith and Warner will have to play really really well and take the mantle of this team forward. Players like Shaun Marsh, Mitch Marsh who've been in this country will have to not just play well but make it a big series. And we'll have to wait and see whether they can do that," the CAB president added.

Ganguly, however, has cautioned Virat Kohli, saying that Steven Smith and his men would come hard at India in the first Test at Pune.

"I'm not sure it's going to make any difference to Virat Kohli. They targeted him in Australia and he came back and played superbly. For me it was the life-changing series for Kohli and since then he's been a terrific player. They might come back hard at him, they will do that in the first Test match but they'll have to keep winning and competing as well against India because if they don't compete then that fire power will slowly fizzle away as the series progresses," Ganguly told India Today.

Over the years, whenever the Australians have tried to sledge Kohli, it has only ended in Kohli performing even more extraordinarily. When he had to face verbal volleys from them last time in Australia, he returned with 692 runs in four Test matches, with four hundreds and a fifty.
