Zee News editor-in-chief Sudhir Chaudhary has responded to Harbhajan Singh's accusation of broadcasting a fake news which bore the description of an unwell Virender Sehwag smashing the off-spinner for 12 sixes. Chaudhary replied via Twitter with a video clip of Ashwin describing the whole incident.

In a recent interview on an online show named 'What the Duck', India's seasoned spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was seen narrating an incident where he described an incident where Virender Sehwag had smacked Harbajhan Singh for 12 sixes while suffering from fever. Zee News and other media agencies picked up the story and broadcasted it on June 6 but Harbhajan singled out Zee News and went on to mock the channel terming it 'zeefaltunews' in his tweet.

However, Sudhir Chaudhary personally sent out tweets with the video of Ashwin narrating the incident to dismiss Harbhajan's claims. In the video, Ashwin, who claimed Sehwag narrated the incident to him, can be heard describing the incident just as Zee News reported it.

โ€œI realised one fine day that it was his ego that you needed to bowl against. Because he gave me a very interesting story. He said he had fever in a game at Rohtak. And smashed Harbhajan for 12 sixes. โ€˜You know Harbhajan is a good off spinner.โ€™ I said, โ€˜Yeah Harbhajan is a good off spinner.โ€™ But that doesnโ€™t mean you smoke him for 12 sixes with fever.โ€

Sudhir Chaudhary sent out the following tweets tagging Harbhajan and Ashwin to stand by his channel's claim.

Ravichandran Ashwin and Harbhajan Singh have been known for not bonding well on and off the field and it was evident when Harbhajan Singh had credited the Indian pitches for favouring the Tamil Nadu spinner after the latter achieved his 200-wicket mark during the New Zealand series in October last year. However, Ashwin had played down the issue blaming the media for misconstructing Harbhajan's words and we hope that the 30-year old takes the same route this time as well.
