Rohit Sharma and Kedar Jadhav will miss the DB Deodhar Trophy 50-over tournament that starts in Vizag on Saturday. Rohit has sustained a knee injury while Jadhav is suffering from a stomach ailment, the BCCI announced. They have been replaced by Ruturaj Gaikwad and CV Milind.

The injury has come as a major blow for Rohit who missed a large part of the home Test season due to a thigh injury. His last international match was the final ODI against New Zealand in Visakhapatnam in October and had made a return to competitive cricket in the recent Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Jadhav played an important role in India's ODI series triumph over England, topping the charts with 232 runs in three matches, including a match-winning 120 in Pune. He was also Maharashtra's second highest run-getter with 375 runs at 53.57 and a strike rate of 136.36 in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

The All India Selection committee on Thursday (March 23) has named Maharashtra's Gaikwad and Hyderabad's CV Milind as their replacement. Off-spinner Harbhajan Singh will now lead India Blue.

Gaikwad had a great run in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, scoring 444 runs in seven matches at an average of 63.42.  Milind scored 101 runs and picked up 13 wickets in the Vijay Hazare competition.

The Deodhar Trophy will be played on a round-robin basis. India Red, India Blue and Vijay Hazare Trophy winners Tamil Nadu are the three teams.
