The Pakistan Cricket Board has asked its Indian counterpart, BCCI, to pay a whopping amount of approximately USD 70 million as compensation for not playing two bilateral series. The Pakistan board is expected to file its claims to the ICC's dispute resolution committee in a few days.

After the consultation process, PCB will ask the Indian cricket board to pay 70 million dollars as they failed to fulfill the terms of an MOU signed in 2014 to play six bilateral series between 2015 and 2023, with four of those being hosted by Pakistan. The cycle was scheduled to start with Pakistan hosting two Tests and five ODIs at a mutually acceptable venue, but the BCCI did not agree to the same, due to political issues between the two countries.

"Our case is that the BCCI signed an MoU with us in 2014 to play six bilateral series, starting with our home series, which they have not done as yet," Najam Sethi, PCB chairman, told PTI.

"Secondly they have avoided playing us in bilateral series since 2008 although they have no issues playing against us in ICC events."

The BCCI claims they can’t play any bilateral series with the neighboring country since their government is not giving clearance to them. But, in the ICC Champions Trophy, India played against Pakistan who managed to beat India in the finals and won the title.

The PCB and BCCI made an attempt to play in December 2015, with Sri Lanka as a neutral venue for the series but the series was scrapped due to no official confirmation from India.

"We even offered to host our home series against them at neutral venue(s) to be mutually agreed by both of us," he added.

"In 2016, we even offered to host a limited overs series in Sri Lanka."

Pakistan board have already suffered huge losses as international teams have refused to tour Pakistan since the 2009 attack on the Sri Lankan team bus. Recently, the World XI series helped them to bring international cricket back to the country.
