South African pacer Kagiso Rabada wonā€™t be a part of the upcoming IPL as he decided to rest himself after suffering a lower-back stress reaction. Earlier, in the mega-auction in Bengaluru, Delhi Daredevils had decided to retain him by using the Right To Match Card for INR 4.2 crores.

It seems, pretty much like the last year, when injuries had decided to take away players from the Indian Premier League, which is all set to enthrall the audience with its 11th incarnation. After Mitchell Starc and Nathan Coulter-Nile became the first two major casualties to be out of the tournament, now South African star Kagiso Rabada has joined the list.

The pacer had sustained the injury in the Johannesburg Test of the recently-concluded Australia series and the injury had aggravated in the latter half of the match, for which, theĀ South African doctor has advised him to take rest for a whole three months. And as a consequence, the IPL team, led by Gautam Gambhir, will try to look for a replacement although they may start with left-arm quick Trent Boult.Ā

Rabada, who was also a part of the Delhi franchise last year, has mostly been an understudy in the league and hasnā€™t been that consistent whenever given chance in the team. His economy rate of 8.80 is one of the worst figures considering how brilliant the pacerā€™s performance is at the highest level of the game.Ā
