BCCI has announced India’s T20 squad for Women’s Asia Cup that is scheduled to be held in Malaysia from June 1 to 11. While left-arm spinners Ekta Bisht and Rajeshwari Gayakwad have returned to the squad, seam-bowling allrounder Rumeli Dhar and spinner Radha Yadav have missed out on selection.

After missing out on the home tri-series against Australia and England in March owing to injuries, Bisht and Gayakwad have returned to the squad, which BCCI announced on Friday. It was during the ODI series against Australia when Bisht had injured her left index finger and as a replacement, Gayakwad was part of the tri-series squad. But, unfortunately, she too suffered a split-webbing in her right hand during a fielding session.

Later, Radha had to replace Gayakwad as she played two games in the tri-series, taking three wickets. The news has, however, put a question mark over Rumeli Dhar’s career. Dhar was part of the T20 tri-series squad, and played just one game, before being left out of the squad for the ODIs against England. She returned to national colours after a six-year gap when she was called up into India's T20 squad for their tour of South Africa last February. Since then, she has played just three T20Is, picking up three wickets at an average of 25.33 and conceding 8.29 runs per over.

Including India, Asia Cup will feature Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Thailand, and Malaysia. Each team will play one match against other, with the top two teams on the points table qualifying for the final on June 11.
