In yet another setback for the Indian team in the ongoing Test series in England, Bhuvneshwar Kumar is understood to have not fully recovered for the last two Tests as well. The Indian squad for the final two games of the series will be announced after the completion of the third Test in Nottingham.

The Meerut-born pacer who is known for his swing bowling would have relished the conditions in England. After his back issue aggravated in the third and final ODI against England, he has been attending the rehab programme at National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. According to a report by Mumbai Mirror, sources said that the pacer has not recovered enough to be considered for selection.

Earlier, while announcing the Test squad for first three games, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) officials had hoped that he could be available for the final two matches. Back in the 2014 England tour, Bhuvneshwar had picked up 19 wickets in five games with best bowling figures of 6/82 in the first innings of the Lord’s Test which India won by 95 runs. Apart from his bowling, the 28-year-old also scored three fifties in the tour and averages more than 27 with the bat in England.

Meanwhile, the Indian think-tank has something to cheer for as it is learned that Gujarat quickie Jasprit Bumrah has recovered well from his thumb injury and will be back in the playing XI after sitting out for the first two games.
