VIDEO | KL Rahul finds new ways to let Virat “DRS-confused” Kohli down in Australia

That Virat Kohli is terrible at taking right DRS calls is not a secret anymore, and how could a match go-ahead without India asking for one terrible one. Only this time the culprit was KL Rahul, whose “I heard it clearly” forced Virat Kohli to go for the review, only to be denied by third umpire.

KL Rahul is having a torrid time playing cricket. Ever since he made everyone sit up and take notice of his immense talent in the last edition of IPL, he hasn’t done anything right to justify the amount of talent that he has. After staying largely silent on the South African tour, Rahul ended the England series with a good 149-run knock at The Oval. But, he has been abysmal of late leading many to believe that his time is up to go back to the grind of Ranji Trophy, and also forced Sanjay Bangar to make the comment, “He is finding new ways to get out.”

Now, on the second day of the Adelaide Test, it seemed like he is also finding new ways to let Virat Kohli down and this time with his overconfident DRS call. Mohammed Shami, bowling the 54th over of Australian innings, bowled a ball down the leg-side to which Travis Head just wanted to flick it down the leg-side. While he couldn’t get a bat on that, Indians started appealing for a caught-behind dismissal to which umpire Nigel Llong denied.

The Indian skipper was confused and asked Rishabh Pant “Bat Laga hai Kya (whether the ball had indeed touched the bat). But before Pant could say something, Rahul intervened and said that “I heard it clearly” which made the Indian skipper confident to go for the review. However, when the third umpire checked the replay, there was a daylight difference between the bat and ball and the sound that came from was off the pads.
