If there is one schism in Pakistan’s armor that has been widened to the point infinity in ongoing New Zealand series – it has been their inability to use reviews. The team has been very much aware of it and it was noticed when they an eternity to go for it this time, although to no avail.

After losing four early wickets for just 60 runs giving Pakistan hope, the Black Caps snatched it from under their noses as Kane Williamson and Henry Nicholls forging a mammoth 212-run partnership as both of them reached their centuries. The Pakistan bowlers’ inability to remove either of them from the crease had increased their desperation to the peak as the side was seen refuting to poor reviews again. Pakistan have been horrendous in using the weapon to their advantage in the series, so far, with almost always getting it wrong on the previous two Test matches.

The incident happened in the 43rd over when Hasan Ali was bowling to skipper Kane Williamson. The ball was seen angling in to hit the pad as Williamson missed it completely although the ball looked to go down the left stumps. Ali sounded extremely confident about it as all the Pakistan players looked at Sarfraz to take the right call.

The skipper was visibly concerned about getting another review wrong and he pondered over it for a long time before going for it. But, his inner voice was right again. The review showed that there was no inside edge and the ball was also missing by some distance. That was the last review for Pakistan.
