Rishabh Pantâs âEveryone is not Pujara, boysâ created a rage on Twitter and his quirky words on stump mic reminded people of MS Dhoni who used to do such things. Today, Pant again got himself into the mood and kept on chipping in words, but Marcus Harris proved his logic wrong with a four.
MS Dhoni was funny behind the stumps with his one-liners and running commentary that was caught on the stump mic, but his was a voice of command too. On the other hand, Wriddhiman Saha was always silent and never impish in his approach. While people call Sahaâs approach was a bit too earnest to be a wicket-keeper, Pant came in with a breath of fresh air and with his impishness, he has shown that the camaraderie in the team is not just a word for Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastriâs press conferences.
In the first innings, when Usman Khawaja left alone a Ravichandran Ashwin delivery, Pant immediately chipped in with the line â Sab Pujara nahi hai Bhai.â in reference to Cheteshwar Pujaraâs sturdy defence in the first innings. As the second innings started, Pant was right on his job again and when he saw, Ashwin missed to hit the rough properly for a few deliveries, he started screaming, âCâmon Ashleyâ for a few times until he got that right.
However, the funniest part of the process started exactly after that. Seeing Harris struggling on the front-foot, Pant immediately suggested that Harris was only going to play on the backfoot and laughed at his technique. He even suggested Ashwin to keep on bowling in the zone to make him suffer more, but Harris had some other plans in his head. He drove the next ball through cover to silent Pant for a moment, but the 21-year-old never stopped. He continued being as cool as he could behind the stumps, which was certainly not music to batsmen's ears.
