After a close 31-run finish in the series opener in Adelaide, Sourav Ganguly predicts thatIndia will be made to work hard to win the ongoing four-match Test series in Australia. Ravi Shastri’s boys will take on Tim Paine & Co. in the second Test match at Perth December 14 onwards.

Virat Kohli & Co. were made to wait until the final day of the first Test match at the Adelaide Oval on Monday to register their first win in the ongoing four-match Test series against Australia. The Indians outplayed their Aussie counterparts by a narrow margin of 31 runs on day five of the series opener after Nathan Lyon and the rest of the Australian lower order put up a strong fight at the death.

The Indian management staff along with coach Ravi Shastri and skipper Kohli were extremely delighted with the win on Monday. However, former india captain Sourav Ganguly predicted that the visitors will be made to work hard in the ongoing series if they hoped to win and create history by being the first Indian team to win a series down under.

“It’s a great win. This will be a hard-fought and highly competitive series. All the matches will be result-oriented,” Ganguly said while congratulating Kohli’s boys.

Cheteshwar Pujara scored 123 runs in India’s first inning to keep them in the game on day one and registered 71 in the second innings to give India the upper hand in the game. Meanwhile, the Indian bowlers also put in brilliant display across the course of the game to bowl out the Aussies for 291 on day five in Adelaide.

Ravi Shastri’s squad will take on Paine & Co. in the second Test that is scheduled to be played in Perth from December 14 and will hope to go 2-0 up in the series and pile further pressure on the hosts.
