Australians are known for their over-the-top celebrations even before umpire raises his finger for a wicket. Today, despite a Mitchell Starc ball despite touching only Cheteshwar Pujara’s shirt before going to the keeper's gloves, Aussie fielders started celebrating which left the former surprised.

On the second day, the cracks became evident as the overcast conditions in Perth was a complete contrast to the sweltering heat of 38C of the first day. Under such circumstances, it was a threat to the batters’ mindset than to their defensive games, and Mitchell Starc knew that an edge was always possible. After dismissing two Indian openers by yorkers, Australia had the upper hand and Starc almost took the match away from India’s grasp in the 9th over.

Starc’s penultimate delivery of the over was a short one and Pujara went for a tuck. However, the ball was not easy to fend away as it rose on him and the batsman had no other way than trying to glance it to long leg. However, the steep bounce was so much that he couldn’t even connect his bat with the ball - for something that he would have been very happy as it crossed past him.

The ball touched Pujara’s shirt first and then Tim Paine got hold of it easily. After the Aussie keeper started celebrating thinking it was a wicket, other slip fielders also joined him and started celebrating the third Indian dismissal, or so did they think. It was a clear not out and Starc knew that. He was obviously not impressed by his teammates’ celebration and showed his decent with a hand gesture.
