Sunil Gavaskar: Kagiso Rabada is the only bowler Kohli needs to worry about

Sunil Gavaskar has sent out a warning to skipper Virat Kohli by stating that the in-form batsman needs to keep his eyes open for Kagiso Rabada’s bowling spell. The original Little master has also added that the return of AB de Villiers will also help South Africa find their mojo back again.

Kohli has been oozing with confidence since the first ODI against the hosts and has scored two centuries in three outings, with his second one, an unbeaten knock of 160 setting a record of the highest score by an Indian on African soil, surpassing the great Sachin Tendulkar who had previously scored 158 vs Namibia in 2003 World Cup.

However, Gavaskar believes that Kohli must be wary of one South African bowler - Rabada - as the two teams are set to face each other at The Wanderers in Johannesburg today in the fourth ODI match.

“The Indian skipper is in sublime form and has shown he is way above other batsmen in the world. His battle with Kagiso Rabada is worth going miles to watch and Rabada is the only bowler who the Indian skipper has had to watch out for.” the former Indian captain wrote in his column for TOI.

With AB de Villiers back in the squad, the Proteas will be all set to take revenge on the Indians as they look to bounce back from a disappointing start to the series. Gavaskar also asked the Indian contingent to be prepared to face a rejuvenated South African team led by de Villiers.

“There is also the not so small matter of the return of AB de Villiers to the South African line-up. The world knows what a game changer de Villiers can be and the Proteas will be hoping that he helps them turn things around and maintain their work record on the Pink day. He himself has played some incredible knocks on Pink days and another one could well be inspirational for the likes of Markram and company,” Gavaskar wrote

India gained an unassailable lead of 3-0 in the six-match series by clinching the first three ODIs comfortably. They will go into the fourth ODI in Johannesburg, with an aim to win a series for the first time in the African continent. The Indian team are on the verge of becoming only the second team after Australia to beat the South Africans on their home turf to win a series of five or more matches in the 'Rainbow Nation'.
