Yuvraj Singh has been out of the Indian squad since June 2017, but the all-rounder has claimed that he still has some years of cricket left in him. He also revealed that he would love to take up a coaching job rather than taking a commentating job post his retirement from the International cricket.

The 2011 World Cup player of the tournament, Yuvraj Singh, battled a rare cancer after the World Cup and made a comeback on September 11, 2012 against New Zealand scoring a fighting 34 of 49 balls but wasn't able to take his team home as India ended up losing the match. Though he made a comeback to the team, he has been in and out of the Indian side since then and he last donned a blue jersey against West Indies in June 2017. The player has still not given up on his prospect of returning to the Indian side for the 2019 World Cup

"I don't want to leave the game with any regret, thinking I should have played for some more years. I want to go when I feel it is the right time to go when I feel I have done my best and I could not have done any more than this. I am still playing because I am enjoying playing cricket, not just because I have to play for India or I have to play the IPL. The motivation is definitely to play for India. I feel two or three IPLs are left in me," Yuvraj said while speaking to Sportstar Live.

The Indian fought through the odds of the Gem cancer and also made a comeback into the Indian side post his chemotherapy, but a dip in form and the rise of Hardik Pandya has kept Yuvraj out of the squad for almost a year. He was also bought by Kings XI Punjab in the 2018 IPL auctions for his base price of 2 crores.

"The journey has been nice. I have been a fighter, taking on tough situations. I like being a pillar of strength to people, for those suffering from cancer or going through other issues in life. I want to be known as someone who never gave up. Whether I play for India or not, I will give my 100 percent on the field," said the player from Punjab.

When he was asked about his plans post his retirement, the 36-year-old replied,  "Commentating is not my forte. Cancer (YouWeCan Foundation) is going to be my area of work in the future. I love supporting young kids, I like interacting with the younger generation.

"Coaching is in my mind. I would identify underprivileged kids and focus on their sport and education. Education is as important as the sport. You need to focus on both. Sport should not come at the cost of education."
