Boundary-line efforts have been hyped after Chris Lynn's catch during the 2014 IPL and many fielders try to recreate it every now and then. While Mark Chapman would have been proud of the way he plucked one out of thin air today, he was left disappointed after the umpire ruled the ball as no-ball.

It seems like Mitchell Santner has now fully mastered the trick of disappointing his fellow teammates. While his missed catches have already become a part of the New Zealand cricketing lore, the spinner has now managed to add a newĀ trick to his armoury which left his teammate Mark Chapman disappointed.

In the final of the Trans-Tasman tri-series, Australia restricted New ZealandĀ to a paltry 150/9 and sensed an easy opportunity to secure the tri-series title. Chasing 151, D'Arcy Short got them off to a good start and the onus was on the Kiwi bowlers to put an end to the carnage.Ā

On the first ball of the 15th over, Santner bowled a high full toss to Aaron Finch which was swatted away towards the long-on region. Chapman was stationed at the position and looking the delivery could have been grabbed, the former Hong Kong cricketer threw his hand towards the direction of the ball. However, he failed to control his body at that moment and knowing that he might have ended up inside the boundary, he threw the ball in the air. In an incredible effort, he, then, jumped high to get hold of the catch and stepped back into the area of play.Ā

While he was seen very proud and happy after pulling off the difficult catch, the umpireā€™s decision destroyed his happiness in a flash as Santner had already overstepped the line. While the no-ball didnā€™t have any real significanceĀ as per the context of the game's result,Ā given the Australia win was just a matter of time, it is high-time that the No.1 T20I bowler as per the ICC rankings, would stop gathering the curse from his teammates.Ā
