On behalf of ICC, Shaun Pollock and Sunil Gavaskar will present the Test Championship mace to Virat Kohli at the end of the deciding T20I between India and South Africa at the. India retained the mace for the second consecutive year after their win in the third Test match, despite losing series 2-1.

After winning the third Test match against South Africa by 63 runs India were guaranteed of not being overtaken by anyone for the no. 1 position in the Test rankings, before the cut off date of April 3. This is the second consecutive year that India have managed to retain the mace and will also receive a prize of USD 1 million. On behalf of ICC, Sunil Gavaskar and Shaun Pollock will present Virat Kohli with the Test Championship mace after the end of the 3rd T20i between South Africa and India, reported PTI.

India dropped three points after losing the series to South Africa as they sit in 121 points whereas South Africa stand second with 115 points. However, South Africa are yet to finish in the second position and would need to win at least one Test match against Australia to guarantee themselves a $500,000 cash prize. If that happens, Australia will take home $200,000 for a third-place finish.

If Australia wins the series 3-0 or 4-0 then they will finish second and pocket the $500,000 cash prize. The winner of the New Zealand v England series will decide the winner of the $100,000 cash price. If the series ends in a draw then the Kiwis would be ahead of England and will get the fourth spot and the cash prize with them.
