Mohammad Azharuddin feels that India should go with two spinners, Ravichandran Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav, in the Test series against England as wickets would be dry during this time of the year. He pointed out that England does not have a good bowling lineup and would it difficult to dislodge India.

Mohammad Azharuddin, who was part of the Indian side that beat England in their own backyard in 1986,Ā has stated that India should play Kuldeep Yadav after England struggled against him in the limited overs games. Azhar also stated that although the team combination would dependĀ on the wickets that are on offer, the best combination would be three fast bowlers and two spinners.Ā

ā€œIf itā€™s a green pitch then they may go with 4-1, but I think 3-2 will be a better combination,ā€ Mohammad Azharuddin told PTI

Being a part of many an English summer during his playing days, the former India skipper said that it was Indiaā€™s best chance to trump England in the five-match Test series starting next week in Birmingham as the Virat Kohli-led side has been strong in all departments of the game.

The mainstay of English bowling Stuart Broad, who has been recovering from an injury, and James Anderson have been prone to injuries in the recent past, which makes their bowling lineup fragile. Azhar stated that it would be difficult for English bowlers to get the wickets of Indian batsmen.Ā Ā

ā€œEngland will find it very difficult to dislodge India because they donā€™t have a good bowling attack. We have a very strong side. There are only two good bowlers they have ā€” James Anderson and Stuart Broad, but they are injury prone and in the twilight of their careers,ā€ Azhar added.
