Playing under MS Dhoni's captaincy for CSK during the IPL, Deepak Chahar has stated that the skipper had duly motivated him and turned him into a better player with his belief in him. Even after two weeks of IPL finals, Chahar said that the win is being celebrated by the people of his city.
Deepak Chahar was ecstatic to hold the trophy of IPL and was glad to be a part of the team that won the IPL trophy this year. Before heading to Bengaluru for the fitness camp for India A squad, he decided to take a break to visit his family in Agra. In an interaction with TOI, he has shared information regarding his career, MS Dhoni's role as a captain and his father's influence in his life.

Deepak had bowled brilliantly for the CSK team and due to a hamstring injury he had to pull out for a few matches, but he gave a striking performance against Sunrisers Hyderabad. He made a name for himself this IPL season and states that the people of Agra are treating him as a celebrity. He has also acknowledged Dhoni's role as a captain and motivator.
“Dhoni doesn’t let the younger cricketers feel that he is a Senior. It is a lot of fun inside the dressing room where senior and junior players laugh together. Dhoni sir especially takes care of youngsters and always sits with us when senior players are sitting on the other table. He cracks jokes, makes fun of you and ensures that your morale is never low. He believes in young cricketers and this gives them the confidence to do better,” Chahar has mentioned.
Deepak has stated that his father, Lokendra Chahar has always played a crucial role in his life and is a highly inspiring figure. He looks up to him and he is a person who has always stood up for him.
