Mohammed Shami handed a Grade B contract as corruption investigation ends
Pacer Mohammed Shami has finally been handed a Grade B annual contract by the Committee of Administrators (CoA) after the investigation by the BCCI's Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) found nothing wrong on the fast bowlers' part. Shami will get a sum of INR 3 crores as his annual retainer fee.
Mohammed Shami, who has been having a tough time in his personal life, can now breathe a sigh of relief he as has been offered a Grade B annual contract by the Committee of Administrators (CoA). Shami's annual contract was withheld when the list of centrally-contracted players was revealed on March 10 after the fast bowler’s wife had filed a complaint against him.
Shami’s wife Hasin Jahan had accused the India cricketer of having extra-marital affairs and resorting to domestic violence. Hasin came out with photos on Facebook, WhatsApp chats, held press conferences, released phone recordings and filed FIRs against Shami.
Subsequently, the CoA had requested Neeraj Kumar, the former Police Commissioner of Delhi and Head of BCCI Anti-Corruption Unit, to investigate the allegations against Shami pertaining to the provisions of the BCCI Anti-Corruption Code.

Mohammed Shami can now breathe easy as due these allegations his IPL participation was also in doubt. However, with things pretty clear, he will represent Delhi Daredevils in the upcoming edition of the IPL. The Grade B contract also means that Shami will be getting Rs 3 crore annually.
