Sunrisers Hyderabad wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha has been ruled out of today’s match against Chennai Super Kings after he failed to recover from a shoulder injury. Coach Tom Moody has revealed that backup keeper Shreevats Goswami would continue to play in the starting XI for this match as well.

Former Kings XI Punjab batsman Wriddhiman Saha, who scored a century in the final against Kolkata Knight Riders back in 2014, was picked up by Sunrisers Hyderabad for this season of the Indian Premier League. Saha has been underperforming this season though with just 87 runs from 10 matches.

However, he suffered a shoulder injury before the match against Delhi Daredevils and has been out of the team. SRH chief coach Tom Moody revealed that he was set to miss out on today’s game against MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings as well after he failed to recover from the injury that he suffered earlier.

This meant that the backup keeper Shreevats Goswami, who was previously a part of the Rajasthan Royals setup, will continue to hold his place in the starting XI after he made his debut for SRH in their last win against Delhi Daredevils. It was Goswami’s first IPL game after a period of six years. Before that, he played his last IPL match way back in 2012 for Rajasthan Royals.

Tom Moody and Co. might also give Saha some extra time to recover as they already qualified for the next round and can afford some extra rest to players. The team management is not expected not to fiddle with the playing XI that comfortably beat Delhi Daredevils at their home stadium.

Skipper Kane Williamson took the charge in that win with an innings of 83* off 53 balls and led his team to the top of the table. Shikhar Dhawan also hit form with an inning of 92* off 50 and was adjudged man of the match for his performance.

The 2016 IPL champions face a tough task of taking on Dhoni and boys as they go head to head in a top of the table clash today. SRH might only look to give chances to youngsters after winning the game against CSK. A win against the yellow brigade will see SRH fixing their place at the top spot no matter what happens in their last two games.
