MS Dhoni has set a standard for the wicketkeepers in modern cricket with some unbelievable glovework behind the stumps. It appears Australia have not kept up with the trends as Alex Carey failed to collect the ball, that went through his legs, and inflict a fairly simple stumping of Faf du Plessis.

In the rain hindered one-off T20 match, which was reduced to 10 overs per side, South Africa thwarted the Kangaroo challenge to come on top defeating the hosts by 21 runs. The match also had one interesting missed opportunity by the Australian wicketkeeper Alex Carey who denied Glenn Maxwell his second wicket of the match which should have been picked by the keeper. In the process, Carey also showed the youngsters what not to do while keeping wickets.Ā

On the last ball of the sixth over, Maxwell bowled a full toss after seeing Faf Du Plessis dancing down the track. The Proteas skipper swung his bat but all he could manage was a small bottom edge. The ball looked destined to go right into the hands of Carey, who would have had an eternity to whip the bails off but it was not to be. The Aussie wicketkeeper seemed to miss the flight of the ball completely and it went right through his legs for a boundary. Needless to say, Maxwell was not impressed by the efforts of his teammate and he just stood there with a disgusted look on his face.

Luckily for him, du Plessis managed to add just six more runs before he was dismissed by Billy Stanlake on the last ball of the next over.Ā
