Ahead of the commencement of the Australian tour, Rohit Sharma has stated that the Indian team wants to make it count on the upcoming tour of Australia. The limited-overs vice-captain also mentioned that there is a good feeling inside the Indian dressing room in all the three formats of the game.

The Indian team is in Brisbane for the first of the three T20Is to be played between India and hosts Australia in the tour. The first T20I will be played tomorrow while the Test series will begin on December 6 with India taking on the Aussies in Adelaide. India last played Test cricket in Australia in 2014-15 where they lost on two occasions and managed a couple of draws as well. The Indian team is high on confidence after dominating the Windies in all the three formats in home series.

"We want to make it count this time around. It's the one place that we want to leave our mark and do well as a unit. The last time we played Test series here – although we lost two games and we drew one game – I thought there were a few close games being played,” Rohit told the media in Brisbane.

"There's a real good feeling inside the group in all three formats – the motivation of the team is to just try and seize all the moments and win tournaments. When you do well in places like Australia you feel good as a team."

India will begin its campaign at the Gabba with the first T20I and then will travel to the MCG and the SCG for the rest two of the series. The Indian cricketers are scheduled to play the practice game in Sydney and the first Test will be played in Adelaide after that. Apart from Sydney and Melbourne, India will have to face the Aussie pacers in Perth. According to Sharma, they know how to use the conditions in Perth to their advantage which might be challenging for the Indian batsmen.

"It's either Perth or Brisbane. India has always played at Perth or Brisbane and this time around we're at Perth. Those two conditions are obviously very challenging. Australia has bowlers who are very tall and extract those conditions, use them to their advantage. Indian batsman generally are not that tall,” Sharma explained during the media interaction.

"Obviously it's not that easy for us but, again, all the guys are quite determined to change things around this time."
