The BCCI-MCA crossfire has resulted in the Indian Women’s World T20 camp delayed by a day and now, instead of the Wankhede Stadium, it will now be hosted by the Brabourne Stadium from Wednesday. The decision, however, irked CoA member Diana Edulji who slammed the BCCI for the mismanagement.

The women’s team was originally supposed to participate in a week-long preparatory camp at Wankhede Stadium from Tuesday under the watchful eyes of Ramesh Powar, but the MCA refused to host them because of their current impasse with the BCCI. The decision of MCA forced BCCI to transfer the camp from Wankhede Stadium to CCI’s Brabourne Stadium.

MCA has been angry ever since they were stripped off the hosting rights for the fourth ODI between India and Windies due to the lack of authorities to sign the cheques and tenders. The MCA was being governed by its own CoA, but their term had ended on September 15 and CoA chief Vinod Rai explained that the MCA had subsequently not "legally authorised" a working group to oversee its functioning.

However, that decision didn’t go down well with the MCA as they challenged the board's decision by moving to the Bombay High Court, where a bench is likely to hear the matter on Wednesday.

While the impasse will take some time to resolve, CoA member and former India Test cricketer Diana Edulji was irked by the chain of events surrounding the women’s team and questioned BCCI GM (Cricket Operations) Saba Karim’s role in it.

"I'm very upset that the Indian women's team could not start the camp over the venue issue and I don't think this treatment would ever be meted out to Virat Kohli's men's team. Why these different set of rules for men and women?" Edulji told the Indian Express.

"The camp should have started. It's preparation for the World Cup, no less. Is this the way the women's team are going to be treated? CoA has given clear directions that the camp should happen today. Why did this situation arise? Why didn't GM [Operations Saba Karim] manage this? He gave us the assurance that he is working on it."
