After being awarded Man of the Match against Pakistan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has stated that the Indian bowling unit that performed well against Pakistan as Team India registered a convincing victory. India defeated Pakistan by eight wickets in the group stage after a lackluster win against Hong Kong.

The Rohit Sharma-led Indian side came out triumphs against their arch-rivals in the group stage as the Indian bowlers put together a stellar show. The Pakistani side was bowled out for 162 in 43.1 overs with Bhuvneshwar claiming three wickets by conceding only 15 in seven overs. Kedar Jadhav also took three wickets, Jasprit Bumrah scalped two while Kuldeep Yadav also managed to pick up a wicket.

Speaking to his new-ball partner Jasprit Bumrah on bcci.tv, the Uttar Pradesh pacer said, "It was good, got the Man of the Match, feeling good. But the main thing is that like, we had our match with Hong Kong, we won, but it was not as convincing as it should have been. But, the bowling unit stepped up today to register a comprehensive win."

Bhuvneshwar missed the entire Test series in England after suffering a lower back injury during the third game of the ODI series. The 29-year-old bowler is making a comeback in international cricket and is looking forward to performing well in the ongoing tournament. He went wicket-less against Hong Kong and gave away 50 runs but made amends in the Pakistan game.

"I was quite nervous about yesterday's game. Not because I was playing an international match after a while but was concerned about my injury. When you return after an injury, at the back of your mind you are always nervous about it recurring at any point. But, as soon as I bowled the first four-five overs, I got pretty comfortable and when I came into this match I was feeling pretty confident within myself," stated Bhuvi.

India and Pakistan met each other after a long time in international cricket and when Bhuvi was asked about the preparations and the competition against the neighbours, he replied, "At the end of the day, it is just a game. Preparation remains the same. But, being such a high profile game, so you get the motivation to go out and perform well. Especially against Pakistan, if the performance is good, the confidence automatically goes up. The rivalry which has been there for so long, that lingers in your mind."
