After Mankading gained immense popularity on social media following the Ashwin-Buttler incident, the attempt to nullify it is making rounds, and MS Dhoni was the first to do that when he undid Krunal Pandya’s attempt. Virat Kohli has gone a step further as he made fun of Sunil Narine’s attempt.

After a shaky start, where RCB openers looked tenttive on the sluggish Eden Gardens wicket, Moeen Ali’s counter-attacking swung the momentum in his side’s favour. After Ali’s fall, Virat Kohli fired with all guns to make a mockery of KKR’s bowling taking the score to 168 for 3 at the end of 17th over. But it wasn’t Kohli’s excellent stroke-play that was proven to be entertaining as the India skipper pulled the rabbit from the hat to give the fans at Eden a moment that was worth their ticket prices.

The incident occurred on the final delivery of the 18th over, when RCB were comfortably placed at 178 for 3 with Kohli in manic form. The only way to stop Kohli was to get him out, and in an attempt to do so, Narine tried to pull off an ‘Ashwin’. He stopped at the very last moment in his delivery stride and attempted to Mankad Kohli, who was well inside the crease.

To make the moment worth a laugh, Kohli pretended that he was way out of the crease and squatted while keeping his bat well inside the crease with a priceless look on his face. Both players took it in a sporting way and shared a smile while the crowd was just amused with the whole incident.
