Ishan Porel and Tanveer Ul-Haq inflicted most of the damage on India Blue on Day 1 at the Just Cricket Academy in Bangalore to put India Green on top on a rain-marred day. In the start-stop affair, only 49 overs were bowled and the Blue finished on 112 for 6 before the day was called off.

Brief scores: India Blue: 112/6 (Ruturaj Gaikwad 30, Ankit Bawne 21*; Ishan Porel 3-26, Tanveer Ul-Haq 2-36) vs India Green

After a delay in the start of the proceedings, Green skipper Faiz Fazal had a fairly easy decision to make once the call of luck went their way. That seemed to be the perfect decision as just eight overs into the game, Tanveer Ul-Haq caught Snell Patel plumb in front for five, signalling the tough times ahead for the batsmen on the surface. Coming as the first-change bowler, Ishan Porel removed his former India U-19 teammate Shubman Gill before the duo of Tanveer and Porel wreaked havoc in the post-lunch session.

While the duo seemed to have found enough amount of swing thanks to the rainy atmosphere in Bengaluru since the last night, Ankit Rajpoot joined the party by dismissing Ricky Bhui which reduced Blue to 96 for 5 at Tea. Things looked pretty bleak for the Green after Tea when Porel sent Jalaj Saxena back to the hut, exposing the lower-order, but bad light seemed to have the last laugh for the day with around 90 minutes left for the close of play.

The umpires waited for the situation to improve but after seeing no hopes of it, he eventually called it off for the day, with Ankit Bawne and Saurabh Kumar at the crease. In what has come as terrible news for both the teams, more rains are expected for the next two days in Bangalore, and the game may suffer the wrath of it.
