MSK Prasad-led Indian selection committee has recommended Vikram Rathour for the post of India's batting coach and now the latter is set to replace Sanjay Bangar in the position. On the other hand, Bharat Arun and R Sridhar have kept their positions as bowling and fielding coach respectively.

After much deliberation and contemplation, the Indian selection committee, after interviewing many candidates, have sent in their recommendations for the Indian support staff who are set to take over after the West Indies tour. While former Indian batsman Vikram Rathour has pipped Bangar for the post of India's batting coach, Bharat Arun (bowling coach) and R Sridhar (fielding coach) have retained their positions.

As per the MSK Prasad-led panel's released list, Rathour was at the top spot followed by Bangar and England's former batting coach Mark Ramprakash in order of priority. On the bowling coach list, Paras Mhambrey and Venkatesh Prasad were ranked below Bharat Arun for the position of bowling coach while Abhay Sharma and T Dilip were behind R Sridhar for the post of fielding coach.

Apart from the coaching staff, the selection panel have also interviewed for different backroom staff like physio and administrative manager as well and recommended Nitin Patel as physiotherapist and Girish Dongre as the administrative manager.

For the post of strength and conditioning coach, there were five candidates - Luke Woodhouse, Grant Luden, Rajnikanth Sivagnanam, Nick Webb and Anand Date - and the five of them will be a part of "second round of interviews to assess their practical skills," said a BCCI media release.
