While getting blows on the body is not a new thing in cricket, it is very rare to see teammates breaking into laughter after his partner gets a blow on his body. However, such were Ambati Rayudu’s antics that Virat Kohli couldn’t control his laughter after seeing the former fall to his knees.

Seeing players pulling off different antics on the field is always fun and even though that may come at the expense of someone being slugslig injured, it adds to the entertainment value of the match. Rayudu’s playacting on the field today was as much fun for the people watching it on Television as much as it was for Virat Kohli, who was at the non-striker’s end.

Rayudu hit Colin de Grandhomme for a six on the last delivery of the 38th over and was understandably relieved for releasing the monkey off his back. With Kohli being on strike for the first ball of the next over, Rayudu was completely relaxed and when the Indian skipper pushed quicker outside off stump delivery to sweeper cover, Rayudu instantly ran hard for a single.

When Trent Boult collected the ball and threw it back to wicket-keeper Tom Latham, Rayudu had just reached the striker’s end and came in the way of the throw despite seeing the ball all the way through from the deep. As the ball hit him on his back, he fell to his knees and was seen saying something to Latham in pain.

The Kiwi keeper checked the Indian batsman while Kohli was still at the other end. The way Rayudu had sat there made Kohli laugh his lungs out and he continued his giggle for quite a while even after checking his teammate's well being.
