The speculated review meeting focusing on India’s World Cup campaign will not be held, confirmed the Committee of Advisors (CoA). India were touted as favourites for the ongoing World Cup but a tragic defeat against New Zealand in the semi-finals knocked them out of the tournament.

It is confirmed that the review meeting won’t be held but the reports of the manager and the coach will be seen by the CoA. Head of CoA, Vinod Rai, confirmed the same on Saturday and has stated that he is absolutely not aware of any review whatsoever.

“I am not aware of any review that is going to be conducted. Let us just wait for the manager and coach’s report which is the standard practice after every tour,” said Vinod Rai, reported Hindustan Times.

Earlier, Diana Edulji and Ravi Thodge, who are also the members of the CoA, had also confirmed that there won’t  be any review meeting.

“Why should there be a review? Why should CoA interfere in cricketing matters,” Edulji said.

“I am not aware of any review meeting,” said Thodge.

India topped the league stages and had only lost one game to England but a bad day at the office in the semi-final against New Zealand knocked them out of the tournament. There were talks of the review meeting on Monday, which was highly unlikely, as most of the Indian team will not be back in India by that time.

When questioned about the decision on the selection committee would be taken by the CoA, Rai replied saying, “We inherited the selection committee. We had not picked it. The next AGM (annual general meeting) will decide the new selection panel."
