After Shaun Marsh fractured his arm, being hit in the nets, Glamorgan has signed Fakhar Zaman as a replacement for the Aussie for the first half of the upcoming T20 Blast. Recently, Zaman had a disappointing World Cup campaign as he ended with 186 runs with just one half-century.

Marsh fractured his arm after being hit in the nets during the World Cup before the last league game against South Africa, and thus ruled out of the first few weeks of the upcoming T20 Blast. However, fortunately, Glamorgan found a ready replacement in the form of Fakhar Zaman who signed up for county for the first half of the next season.

"It is disappointing to lose Shaun Marsh for the start of the competition but to secure the services of Fakhar on short notice is great news for the club. He is a fantastic cricketer and one of the most destructive batsmen in the world who has a history of performing in big matches,” Glamorgan's Director of Cricket Mark Wallace said.

Zaman had a terrible World Cup campaign at his disposal as he ended with 186 runs with just one half-century as Pakistan failed to make it to the top four, but the batsman hopes to put that behind and wants to remind the fond memories of the ground from our Champions Trophy semi-final here in 2017.

"I'm thrilled to sign for Glamorgan and look forward to playing in Cardiff. I have fond memories of the ground from our Champions Trophy semi-final here in 2017 and look forward to making some new ones. Glamorgan is a fantastic club and hopefully, I can put in some match-winning performances for the team during my stay,” Zaman said.

Now, after Zaman’s inclusion, Glamorgan will have just one overseas player at the start as Mitchell Marsh will be away with Australia for Ashes preparations. Glamorgan start their campaign with a home game against Somerset on July 18.
