Brett Lee has admitted that the one batsman he would never sledge, purely out of respect for ‘the King’, was Sachin Tendulkar. However, during Tendulkar’s illustrious career that spanned almost 25 years, no bowler had dismissed him more times across all formats of the game than Lee himself.

Lee, who is very fond of India, cherishes the clashes he had against the Men in Blue during his playing days on Gaurav Kapur's Youtube Show "Breakfast with Champions". True fans of the sport fondly remember the fierce battle between Lee and Tendulkar. If on one end was the mastery and timing of the Indian legend, at the other end was the relentless aggression of the Aussie.

Although he has dismissed the ‘Little Master’ 14 times in the 42 times they’ve faced off against each other in Tests and ODIs, Lee admitted on the show that he just never sledged the great man.

“Not taking respect from other batsmen but because Sachin is Sachin and he is God, out of respect for Sachin you just don't sledge him. I should probably say that about a Jacques Kallis or about Freddie Flintoff because they are legends of the game. But I don’t know, Sachin is different, he is different, you don’t sledge the King,” Lee said, reported Indian Express.

However, it was not as if the speedster, who modelled his game after the great Jeff Thomson, never tried to get a few words in. Lee said that it got Sachin even more focused as if he thrived on them.

“If you sledge Sachin, you can see in his eyes, he changes. He looks in and you are there for the whole day, bowling to Sachin,” Lee added.
