For the fifth time in this World Cup so far, the ball has hit the stumps without any disturbance to the bails and this time, Jasprit Bumrah was the casualty. The Indian pacer had already started celebrating David Warner’s dismissal but found out that the bails didn’t come out of the groove at all.

After India put up a good total of 352 runs on the board, it was always going to be challenging for Aaron Finch and co. to chase down the total. Jasprit Bumrah, on the very first ball that he bowled, gave India a chance to have an early crack but as it turned out lady luck was not with him.

On the very first ball of the second over, Bumrah bowled a short of a length delivery which climbed onto the batsman. Warner decided to hop across on the defensive push but the idea of doing that was very faulty in the first place thanks to the awkward angle that Bumrah created. As expected, Warner ended up having an inside edge and the ball rolled back onto the leg-stump.

Bumrah had completed half of his celebration when disaster struck him. The bails didn’t move off the groove despite the ball hitting the stumps pretty firmly and Bumrah was completely dejected. Warner, however, was laughing at Bumrah - an awkward laugh though.
