Harbhajan Singh has stated that if the Manchester weather permits for a 50-over encounter between India and Pakistan, then the former will have an upper hand in the game. The former off-spinner has also added that Old Trafford is a sand-based ground and even if it rains, it doesn't soak in.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) are under fire after the game between India and New Zealand was cancelled due to incessant showers in Nottingham which was the fourth game to be washed out in the World Cup so far. Things are not any clearer in Manchester either as another rain wash out looms large and even if the rain god relents to give the archrivals some game-time, a full game is not on the cards. However, optimistic Harbhajan Singh stated that if a 50-over match happens, India can't be beaten.

"If a 50-over match happens, India can't be beaten. The team is in good shape. They are feeling great, the mod in the camp is high and I just spoke to the players. They are looking very relaxed," Harbhajan told India Today.

One of the things that differentiate Old Trafford from other venues is the kind of soil that are being used. While most of the English venues use red laterite soil, Old Trafford has more sand content and the offie believes, that will keep the ground in good stead even if it rains.

"I have been at the stadium for quite some time. There are a few wet patches but not a lot of them. I expect a full 50-over match tomorrow. However, if it rains then it depends on how much because the drainage at Old Trafford is not that great. This is a sand-based ground. If it rains, then it doesn't soak in,” Harbhajan concluded.
