BCCI Ethics Officer DK Jain has given clean chit to Sachin Tendulkar in conflict of interest issue but added that VVS Laxman’s conflict is in the tractable category. Earlier, Tendulkar refused to be part of the Cricket Advisory Committee unless he is provided with agreeable 'terms of reference'.

After Tendulkar’s refusal to be a part of any process related to CAC unless he was provided a terms of reference, Ethics Officer Justice DK Jain has given a clean chit to the former Indian opener for his involvement in the conflict of interest. So that effectively rules Tendulkar out of the new coach selection process after the World Cup unless CoA gives proper terms of reference.

Earlier, Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) life member Sanjeev Gupta had alleged that both Tendulkar and VVS Laxman were conflicted for performing dual roles as CAC member as well as mentor and icon with their franchises Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad respectively.

While giving clean chit to Tendulkar, Justice Jain stated that Laxman's conflict of interest is tractable. He has also directed the BCCI to ensure that Laxman relinquishes his interests, which give rise of the conflict of interest and does not occupy more than one post at any given point of time, within two weeks, then he will also be given clean chits.
