India vs Australia | Adam Zampa happy to win mind game against Virat Kohli

A happy Adam Zampa has stated that Virat Kohli might have overthought his bowling which added the pressure of not getting out to him and he took the benefit of the same. The leggie has also added that he is slowly getting the hang of the Indian conditions which can help him do well in the series.
Equally efficient against all kinds of bowlers, Virat Kohli often comes across as a hard-hitter against the leg-spinners, as his records in the IPL suggest. However, ever since the last England tour, where Adil Rashid had regular success against him, bowlers found a weakness in his approach and for example, Zampa has dismissed him four times in the limited-overs cricket. That has given him huge confidence to the Aussie spinner and he reveals that it was probably due to the fact that Kohli is overthinking his bowling.
"He's one guy we always spend a little bit of extra time talking about in team meetings. It's good for the confidence, it's exciting to get a player like that out. But it's also one of those things where he probably won't want to get out to me again so I don't know if he's going to do a bit more thinking about it. I'm going to have to bowl even better this game,” Zampa said ahead of the Nagpur ODI, reported Cricbuzz.
"If you look at the last few games, I didn't get any wickets but felt like I bowled really well and kept it simple and felt like wickets were round the corner. So it was a confidence boost to get a couple of big wickets the other night. But now the Indians will be more aware of what I'm doing."
The old-school approach of giving flight to the ball above the eye-line and the wily deception, Zampa came across as a classic attacking leg-spinner. However, he failed to own the spot for himself and was out of the team far too many times for his inconsistency. However, a continuous run in the last few months
"I feel like the last time I came to India 18 months ago, I wasn't really bowling well. I was low on confidence .. and we were a bit underdone, we hadn't played much cricket.
While Aaron Finch has been under the scanner for his terrible run of form in the recent times, calls are there to replace him in the team with another player and hand over the captaincy to a more suitable candidate. However, Zampa disagreed with that and stated that his captain’s morale is still high.
"If you ask Aaron, he'd agree that he's not in the best form of his life, but in terms of morale, he's been unbelievable. He hasn't captained a lot for Australia but he's done a really good job to keep himself really good for the team.
"Aaron is a world class player. We have seen guys like Virat and Dhoni - at the end of the day, their experience has been the difference between us and them [here and] in Australia. So Finch's experience is going to be the difference for us going forward. We know he's going to turn it around," the leg-spinner concluded.
