UFC athlete Conor McGregor is well known for his over-the-top celebrations and for his flamboyant style in and out of the ring. Sri Lanka cricketer Isuru Udana replicated McGregor’s bullish celebration after he brought about his maiden T20I half-century in the narrow loss to South Africa on Friday.

South Africa managed to clinch a series win in the ongoing three-match saga against Sri Lanka on home turf. The hosts narrowly registered a 16-run win against Lasith Malinga & Co. in the second T20I encounter which was being played at the Centurion on Friday night.

Despite the loss, there were quite a good number of positives to take for the visiting team who fell narrowly short of the target on board. One of them was a brilliant batting display from Isuru Udana who gave the Proteas team a run for their money during the second innings.

Udana was in fine form last night as he almost single-handedly tore apart the home team’s bowling attack. The highlight of his innings came in the 17th over as he smashed a delivery by Lutho Sipamla right into the stands for a maximum to register his maiden half-century in the T20I format with the Lankan team.

The 31-year old also went on to emulate UFC athlete Conor McGregor as he celebrated his milestone by raising his hands aloft in the air while signalling towards the team dressing room. As much as the celebration was the one to show the world that he belonged, the theatrics actually gave him a wide fan following yesterday on the social media.
