Stephen Fleming has stated that experience has always been an invaluable asset in T20s and Harbhajan Singh’s performance in the opening fixtures just explained that. The CSK coach has also added that his team is not focusing only on Rishabh Pant, but trying to crack the Delhi Capitals code as well.

Chennai Super Kings were trolled heavily last year for acquiring the services of players mostly above 30. However, they cracked the balance code perfectly or simply rode on the wave of momentum into the Playoffs to secure their record-equalling third title. This will be no different this time either and was proven in the opening encounter against Royal Challengers Bangalore, the franchise will continue relying on players who have been proven customers than new promising players. Fleming, clearly having 1-0 up against the detractors after Harbhajan-Imran Tahir pandemonium in Chepauk, is not ready to move away from his tactics.

"He was fantastic in the first game. Experience is important. There are a lot of left-handers in the Delhi side. That was discussed in the RCB game as well. We will look to consider that. It is about the skill sets we have. It was a compliment to not having to stick to the overseas quota. We will consider it again tomorrow," Fleming said in the pre-match press conference in Delhi, reported PTI.

On Sunday, Rishabh Pant played one of the finest IPL innings, with an authority that not only made the Mumbai bowlers searching for their soul, it also let the social media go crazy for him. That was widely expected from a cricketer of his calibre and could have had fear in the CSK line-up, but Fleming didn’t buy to the theory and said they have still to be worried about Shikhar Dhawan, Colin Ingram, and Shreyas Iyer.

"You have to respect so many players in the tournament and he is one of them. But there are others as well. Have to be sure you don't overplan. He is one of the great young prospects in Indian cricket. But there is Shikhar Dhawan, Colin Ingram, captain Shreyas Iyer. One thing is to find a weakness, but have to use it well. You must focus on own strength," he explained.

Feroz Shah Kotla is known for its assistance to spinners and considering the fact that the defending champions are loaded with spinners, they will put up DC's first real challenge. On being asked about that, Fleming said they will be sure about the combination only after having a look at the conditions.

"The last game was difficult for the batters. The bowlers excelled. The fact that we use spinners is one or our tactics, we have seaming bowlers as well to exploit situations. We will spend time to look at the conditions. Getting the combination right is important."
