Royal Challengers Bangalore all-rounder Shivam Dube considers himself lucky to have rubbed shoulders with international stars like Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers in the IPL. Dube also hailed Kohli as captain and has stated that every young cricketer would want to play under his guidance.

Royal Challengers finished the season as bottom-dwellers with just 11 points in their kitty. The side peaked in the second leg after having a forgettable run in the first. Shivam Dube got his chances but unfortunately didn’t quite manage to make an impression. After a torrid run this season, Kohli’s captaincy came under scrutiny. However, the budding Mumbai all-rounder has praised Virat Kohli’s captaincy and considers himself lucky to be mentored by him.

"Virat bhaiya is undoubtedly the best players we have in our team at the moment. It's a great opportunity to be mentored by him and playing under him. I think every young cricketer wants to play with him at least once; sharing the crease with him is something that goes a long way in helping you learn. I was lucky to have been able to play under him in this IPL," Dube said, reported IANS.

"I have been able to learn a lot of things from him, including his way of managing the team and keeping the entire team together. He is a great leader."

Dube also threw light on how De Villiers rendered enough support to him during his stint with the RCB and also said that he is a great team player. "ABD always told me to keep a positive attitude in any situation and it has really helped solve my problems in tough situations. He's a great team player and even as a senior, he always motivated me in practice as well as in the matches," Dube said.

Dube’s lean patch saw him playing just four games for RCB this season. The southpaw is optimistic about the future and feels he has a lot more to achieve in the near future. Dube is all set to participate for Shivaji Park Lions in the upcoming Mumbaii T20 league.

"I gave my 100 per cent but unfortunately it wasn't enough for our team as a whole. I know I have more to achieve and I can definitely do much better. I am confident I will get more chances in different formats of the game. My focus at the moment is doing my best for the Shivaji Park Lions in the upcoming Mumbai T20 League.
