It is no doubt that Pat Cummins is genuinely one of the most exciting pace bowlers of 21st century and at The Oval, he showed it why. While England batsmen failed to properly crack the code, Pat Cummins made his own teammates fumble four times before collecting the ball behind the stumps.

On a wicket that had way too little spice to threaten anyone, Pat Cummins was cut above the rest and bowled with vigour and panache. After dismissing Joe Root, who had been dropped twice in the game off his own bowling and once off Peter Siddle, Cummins seemed like he was destined to take the honours of the day. The short balls were coming in pretty nicely and he was effectively having a fine outing.

Just as a demonstration of the fact, on the first delivery of the 59th over, he bowled a full delivery that suddenly roseĀ on Jonny Bairstow to leave him almost flummoxed. As the batsman was clueless, Cummins had that typical smile on his face - a trait that has become synonymous with him and Jasprit Bumrah - but the original was still awaiting him.

Paine was visibly struggling to get hold of the delivery behind the stumps and it fumbled twice on his palm before it went towards David Warner, standing at second slip. It was not easy for the opener too as he also struggled to gobble the delivery and when he eventually managed to steady the ball, he had fumbled twice.Ā
